There was a woman in our neighborhood that had a front yard of
nothing but trees and wild flowers. In the spring her place was
always filled with bright green leaves, tiny blue flowers, and tons
of yellow, white and purple crocus. When she moved, the wild
flowers were taken out and replaced with a more traditional lawn –
also lovely, but never quite the same.
